Lori Hasselfeldt

Lori is a nature-inspired artist based in Venice, Florida, working primarily in oil, watercolor, and pastels. Raised in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota, her lifelong love of the outdoors and plants led her from gardening and photography to botanical illustration and plein air painting.

A graduate of Golden Valley College, Lori continued her art studies at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts and the Minnesota School of Botanical Art, drawing inspiration from artists like Pierre-Joseph Redouté and Margaret Best. She was mentored by watercolorist Aileen Malcom and later authored and illustrated two children’s books while living aboard a sailboat in the Caribbean.

Today, Lori paints en plein air along Florida’s Gulf Coast, capturing light, form, and color with joyful, expressive brushwork. Her work is held in private collections, and she is an active member of the American Impressionist Society and several regional plein air groups.
