Paul Laoria
Born and raised in NYC, Paul was immersed in the world of art. Trained exclusively by his father, artist Sam Laoria, he began painting at age 3. His passion and discipline were evident from a young age. He made regular pilgrimages to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he studied the masters and refined his technique through sketching.
Primarily known as an abstract artist, his foundation in classical painting and drawing remains evident in his work. He paints exclusively in oil on canvas, building each piece through intricate layers of color. These layers create a dynamic, three-dimensional effect, and shapes emerge organically and guide the evolution of each composition, allowing unexpected moments to shape the final piece.
Paul studied at Juilliard and the Eastman School of Music. His training often blends in, translating sound into visual harmony and interpretations of musical expression.
Paul’s paintings reside in some of the world’s most beautiful homes and private collections. His art continues to evolve, reflecting a lifelong dedication to color, form, and the unseen rhythm behind every brushstroke.
